Grandmother Tried To Escape From Her 14th-Floor Flat By Climbing Down The Apartment Building With Bare Hands

A grandmother in China, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, was spotted climbing down an apartment block in Shenghuacheng Residential District in Dayi County with her bare hands.

The elderly woman was trying to escape from her home after her family members locked her in.

She climbed 10-storeys down and then a family on the fourth floor dragged her into their apartment to save her.

The shocking video was filmed by her neighbours in Shenghuacheng Residential District in Dayi County.

The video shows the grandmother carrying a red fabric bag while climbing down the residential building with the help of the metal bars outside a ventilation shaft.

The workers told Red Star News that the grandmother’s family had locked her in her 14th-floor flat and she was trying to escape from her home.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after eyewitnesses told them that an elderly woman was ‘hanging’ on the façade of a building.

She was saved just as they were about to place an inflatable mattress underneath her.

It is still not clear if she suffered any injuries.
