When senior citizens like grandmas, grandpas, and aged moms are in nursing homes, we generally tend to believe that they will be looked after quite well by the nursing staffs over there.
However, sometimes, this may not be the case as has been the condition with Mary Thompson, 79 years old. She lives in Claremont Parkway in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England and was in a nursing home, recovering from a serious operation that was done on her recently.
She got some very bad treatment from the nursing home related to her dinner and that just cannot be called a good housekeeping by any standard. her granddaughter, Elisha, narrated all the horror tales that she had to undergo over there.

However, she was only provided with ham, beans and, chips and when she said that she could not have beans, it was also removed by them! Moreover, the chips did not have any potato and were frozen and reheated.point 171 | When all of this was brought to the notice of the concerned at the nursing home by Elisha, they further embarrassed her and her mother by returning only with the chips! On further asking them, they said that since it was a sandwich ham, the lady couldn’t eat that too!point 396 | 1
The whole event has been shared many times over the internet – The complete matter caught attention over the internet as the plate pics made their way through to the social media channels, particularly Facebook.
First, Elisha had shared it and subsequently, it has been shared 60,000 times after that as people have taken quite a serious view for the lack of respect that has been shown by the nursing home to the senior citizen.
Campaigns like this are a healthy trend and can help in providing the due respect that senior citizens deserve for all the hard work that they have put during their time.
