The world is perennially in need of kind people and the coronavirus pandemic is the prime time for them to show up.
If someone chooses to help the other person, it can make a huge difference. The disease is more lifely to affect the elderly population and this is why they should take extra care and be safer.
This one elderly lady decided to bring a change. She was not willing to wait for anyone to help her and so, she did it herself. The world is facing a shortage of face masks forcing a lot of people to be creative and make their masks at home.
The eighty-nine-year-old lady took this as an opportunity and started making her own masks immediately. She saw that the world needed masks, so, she aimed to help others too.
Teresa Provo, the grandmother, also called Grandma Terry lives alone in Chicago, Illinois. Grandma Terry had been sitting inside her home trying to entertain herself by computer games and TV during the pandemic.
Amongst her favorite hobbies are sewing and her sewing machine has proven to be a savior at this time. Being herself, a selfless woman, Grandma Terry first though about protecting others at the time when pandemic broke.
When everything was under lockdown, she thought of her family immediately and about others in the world who required extra safety precautions.
So, she first collected all the fabric she could and after that, she started sewing masks for all her friends and family members. She made 50 masks in total.
When they were ready, she mailed the masks to everyone to different parts of the country – California, Minnesota, Florida, Wisconsin, and Chicago.
She customized masks based on everyone’s interest and did all the sewing while listening to the Beatles. Then, her news spread and her group of elderly people participated with her to make 600 masks.
Grandma Terry noted that it took them two weeks to make them and she is still working on some.
