It’s very easy for kids to lose their self-esteem when they are going through something at a very young age and it is the responsibility of elders to help them in restoring their self-esteem.
Recently, a grandfather with Vitiligo knits dolls for all the kids who suffer from the same disease to help them in restoring their self-esteem.
Vitiligo disease affects 3 million Brazilians and it makes them lose skin color in certain body areas.
There are several treatments for this disease but the most difficult part is to cope with it because of the other people’s views towards the one who suffers from it. Mr. Joao, a grandfather decided to knit dolls and help the kids with the same disease restore their self-esteem back.
Mr. Joao had signs of vitiligo when he was 38 years old and due to heart problems and this disease, his life changed a lot.
He made sure to not let this difficulty stop him from living his life just the way he always imagined.
He decided to learn crochet along with his wife and now he is knitting these dolls to bring up the self-esteem of the kids who suffer through the same disease.
The dolls also look like they are losing skin from several areas but that’s what is motivating the kids to get back their self-esteem.
It is a very pure and thoughtful idea that will help so many kids who are suffering through this disease and cannot face the world with a brave face.
