107-Year-Old Grandfather Beat Coronavirus On His Birthday


A 107-year-old great-great-grandfather has become one of the oldest people ever to beat COVID-19 after being declared coronavirus-free on his birthday.

Rudolph ‘Rudi’ Heider is an inspirational man who survived the Spanish Flu and COVID-19 and lived to tell the tales from the times of World War II and the Great Depression.

At 107 years old, Rudi from Missouri has become one of the oldest people ever to beat the novel coronavirus.

Following two weeks of isolation, Rudi’s family received the good news that the centenarian has recovered from the disease.

As Matthew Heider, Rudi’s grandson, expressed, the family had been praying for the great-great-grandfather’s recovery knowing that the odds were against him.

“He was fighting fevers, I think he was at 102° and he had said he wanted to die… I cried,” Matthew’s wife, Janet, said in an interview with 11 Alive.

Fortunately, however, Rudi made it through the ordeal just in time for his 107th birthday.

After beating the virus, he also thanked his family for support and best wishes. “Thank you, everyone, for all the help you’ve given me,” he allegedly told Matthew and Janet as they greeted him on his birthday.

Speaking of Rudi’s abundant years, the grandson expressed: “I think a lot of it is definitely having a positive attitude and his mind is so active.”

As the family insisted, they shared the centenarian’s story in order to spread some positivity and encourage others who find themselves without hope during these tough times to keep on fighting.
