Governor Newsom has recently signed a bill by which the true heirs of a large property in California will be given justice after 100 years.
According to the source, a black couple once purchased a beachfront property in California and built a resort here, especially for the country’s black citizens. They faced a lot of complicated circumstances and a long duration of racial harassment by their neighbors and the Ku Klux Klan.
After some time, this land at Manhattan Beach was taken from the couple after many wrongdoings. First, some people tried to burn down the resort, and then the neighbors showed pure hatred at the presence of black people around them. In 1924, the property was taken forcibly, claiming the need for a public park in that area.
Later it was transferred to the state in the 1940s and after five decades, it came in the custody of the LA country. The owners of the property, Willa and Charles Bruce, were long forgotten by then. The true heir of the couple is the great-great-grandson of the couple, Anthony Bruce.
He read a prayer during the signing ceremony of the property. He then proclaimed that the city of Manhattan Beach, the state of California, and LA Country owes a debt to his family, and now he is happy that Governor Newsom will finally do something about it.
This event happened on Thursday, and according to the governor, this act of justice should be repeated everywhere. This case looks impossible, but sometimes the possibilities are beyond our imagination. Injustice should be condemned in every corner of the world because only justice makes a country progress.
