As the mother previously revealed, she used Gorilla Glue to set her hair after running out of her hair spray. After the glue dried, however, she was unable to remove it from her hair and scalp for several weeks.

Following a trip to the ER, doctors were unable to remove the adhesive from Brown’s hair, prompting the TikTok sensation to resort to alternative methods.

Eventually, Brown was contacted by Dr. Michael Obeng who promised to perform a $12,500 procedure free of charge if she paid him a visit at his office in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

During the four-hour procedure, before which the 40-year-old received light anesthesia, the plastic surgeon applied a medical-grade dissolver to free Brown’s hair piece by piece.

Following the intense procedure, Brown was seen running her fingers through her locks in relief.

Speaking of his methods, Dr Obeng told TMZ that his team prepared for the bizarre procedure by formulating their own solution to tackle the glue.

“I looked up the compound, the main active ingredient in Gorilla Glue: polyurethane. Then we figured out the science, how to break it down,” he confirmed in an interview with TMZ.

“We bought chemicals that have components to dissolve the solvent, we used medical-grade adhesive remover that we use in the operating room.

“Then we have another active ingredient, MGD. We added MGD to it – which is an aloe vera and olive oil mixture. Then we added a little acetone.”

While the mother-of-five was worried she would lose all of her hair in the process, Obeng and his team managed to rescue Brown’s remaining locks.

“I can scratch it! Now I wish I had waited for my sister to cut my ponytail off,” the 40-year-old said after the one-month-long ordeal.
