The family of Gorilla Glue Girl surprised the mum-of-five by cutting their hair in a show of solidarity after the 40-year-old lost the majority of her hair.
Tessica Brown, 40, is a Louisiana woman who went viral following the revelation that her hair had been stuck in place for more than a month after she used Gorilla Glue spray to set her locks in time for her date.
After failing to get rid of the glue from her hair and scalp on her own, Brown proceeded to the ER only to be disappointed when the staff couldn’t help her either.
Finally, the mother-of-five managed to free her locks after flying to Los Angeles where a plastic surgeon, Dr Obeng, saved her remaining hair and scalp in a four-hour procedure involving the use of a custom-made dissolver.
Now, after returning home to Violet and finally being able to run her fingers through her hair again, the 40-year-old was in for another surprise as her sisters and her mother cut their hair in a show of solidarity.
As seen in the photo of the family, the women traded their long locks for short hair, whereas the Gorilla Glue Girl now appears to have longer tresses than most of her siblings.
Pictured in the photo obtained by People are Tessica’s sisters Juanita Brown, Erica Brown, Jamie Sino, and Rose Hayes. Meanwhile, their mother, Jessica Brown, who is seen on the right side of the photo, decided to shave her head.
Speaking to the PEOPLE about her ordeal, Tessica suggested she felt relieved after her hair was finally free of glue once again.
“I can’t even explain that feeling. If you didn’t go through that … nobody’s going to ever understand how I felt. I can’t even explain how I felt when I wasn’t able to do something simple that other people could do every day,” she told the publication.
Meanwhile, the mother-of-five also decided to donate $20,000 out of $23k she had received in donations. The funds will be going to Dr Obeng’s charity which specializes in providing people with deformities with reconstructive surgery.
