Jodie Johnstone, 25, and her partner Joseph Curtis, 34, who were expecting their second child, discovered the gender of their upcoming baby at the 18th week of pregnancy.

Joseph, known as Joe, and Jodie wanted their ‘gender reveal’ to be fun so they decided not to simply ask the sex of the baby from the sonographer.

Leaving the low-key method, the pair wanted out to discover the great news in the most amazing way ever.

Joe, who also has two cute daughters from an earlier relationship, believed their new baby would again be a girl.

“Me and Jodie have been together four and a half years, and we already have one girl. I have two girls from a previous relationship too,” Joe said.

“Jodie’s grandfather has actually had a run of eight girls since his generation, so it’s a very girl orientated family.”

As can be seen in the video, Joe took a putt at a golf ball containing the gender reveal at Gloucester Golf Club. Just as he hit it, it exploded in a puff of blue smoke revealing the big news.

The couple was both shocked and happy to find out they were having a boy.

Speaking of why the arrangement was special to the couple, Joe said: “Jodie and I actually met on the golf course here, I’m the manager.

“She used to walk her mom’s two dogs across the golf course and that’s how we got chatting.

“Our first date was to the Rugby World Cup match between Scotland and Japan in 2015, I’d won tickets to the match through a ‘Hero of the Year award’, so I took Jodie and that was that.

“Doing the gender reveal at the golf course made sense because it was the only place to be.”
