Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell Received Adjoined Hollywood Stars, honoring their careers that have spanned more than 50 years.
The two first met during the filming of “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band” in 1968, but it wasn’t until filming “Swing Shift” in 1983 that their relationship began.
Daughter Kate Hudson also attended the event. “I was slotted in to talk about my mother, but I have two parents and they’re both here,” Hudson shared regarding her mom and stepdad.
“I always thought I’d be talking about them at a wedding or something,” Hudson said when she took the stage. “But since a wedding doesn’t seem to be in our near future, this seems to be my only opportunity.”
The iconic couple met long before Hawn played a socialite snob with amnesia turned sweet housewife with a big heart.
Reese Witherspoon also attended the event and gave a touching speech, recalling how Hawn has influenced her in so many ways over the years.
“She is a film legend. She is an icon. She is a true movie star.” Reese Witherspoon spoke these words about her “idol” at a very special double Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
“She just lights up the screen,” Witherspoon said through her tears. “She’s lit up my life and I just hope one day I can be held in the same regime that I hold her. She’s changed my life.”
Though Hawn and Russell have never married, they’ve been together since 1983.
“Goldie, to you I owe my wonderful life. Simply put, Goldie, I cherish you. All of the stars in the sky or the boulevard don’t hold a candle to that,” he said in his speech. “There’s no one else I’d rather be next to than Goldie Hawn.”
