Carrie Symonds who is the girlfriend of Boris Johnson revealed recently that she has been showing the coronavirus symptoms.
Although the thirty-two-year-old Carrie who is pregnant had maintained a distance from the infected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, she had spent last week bedbound.
The U.K. PM tested positive for the coronavirus disease on 28th March and then went into a week of self-isolation.
Boris was about to end his quarantine in Downing Street seven days after he was tested positive but decided to extend the period as he suffered high temperature.
His pregnant girlfriend who had been self-isolating from her partner revealed that she feared that she had also contracted the disease.
She announced recently that she has spent the last week in bed with the main symptoms of the coronavirus disease. However, she added that she did not require testing because, after 7 days of rest, she now feels stronger.
She added that being pregnant with coronavirus disease is obviously worrying. On March 16th, Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer, placed pregnant ladies in the vulnerable group.
He added that because coronavirus is a new disease and had been around only for a few months, they had been precautionary while giving advice to pregnant women, and have asked them to increase social distancing.
He further said that even the most normal infections can be serious in pregnancy, and this is why their advice to pregnant women is extremely precautionary.
Nadine Dorries, the Health Minister, had also contracted coronavirus 3 weeks ago and announced on social media that she had been in constant touch with Ms. Symonds and although Carrie showed symptoms of the disease, she was recovering as well as getting stronger each day.
