A young girl has written a distressing note in which she accused her 73-year-old foster carer of sexually abusing her.
“I feel sad when I have sex with my granddad,” the girl’s shocking note read.
Following the revelation, 73-year-old Desmond Gore from Perth, Australia, was arrested and found guilty of 20 counts of rape and sexual abuse of a minor.
As the court heard, the sexual abuse was happening from 2007 to 2010 at the man’s suburban home and didn’t come to light until a social worker stumbled across the girl’s box in which there was a note that read: “I feel safe when loved. I feel sad when I have sex with my granddad.”
The abuse occurred years after Department for Child Protection first heard allegations claiming Gore sexually abused another child in his care.
While the other girl was removed from his care after caseworkers were alerted of the allegations, the 73-year-old wasn’t charged and the Department of Child Protection allowed him to become a foster carer of other children.
After the disturbing note reached the authorities, however, several other children have spoken out and claimed they were sexually abused by the man while his wife was away.
According to the court reports, Gore was responsible for abusing at least six children of which five were in his care.
One of the kids who got abused while in Gore’s care spent no more than one month with the pervert before getting sexually assaulted.
Following the accusations, Gore maintained his innocence and claimed the reports were “complete and utter lies.”
“It’s all about the money, nothing else, nothing else,” the 73-year-old said in the court. He was found guilty of all charges and is awaiting sentence.
