While dogs truly can be our best friends and most loyal companions, it is important to keep in mind that they are animals and that they might snap just like humans sometimes do.
In a disturbing incident that occurred in Tucumán, Argentina, Lara Sanson was left with 40 stitches all over her face after a photoshoot with her beloved dog had gone wrong.
As the 17-year-old girl was trying to get the perfect photo with Kenai the German Shepherd, the dog had suddenly snapped and launched an attack on the teen.
While Kenai and the teen appeared in perfect harmony at the beginning of their photoshoot, the dog most likely had enough of the girl’s attention, prompting it to spread its jaws and bite the girl on her face.
“I do not know if I touched its hip or if it reacted like this because it is old, or it was because I hugged it and scared it,” the 17-year-old said in an interview with La Nacion according to The Daily Star.
After the unsuspected attack, the teen was rushed to the hospital where she received 40 stitches over a period of two hours.
She is expected to recover fully despite the fact that she’s been suffering from inflammation since the attack.
Following the incident, Lara has shared the pictures from the photoshoot online and revealed that her dog won’t suffer any consequences because she believes the attack wasn’t intentional.
“Its pains are growing and pain could have generated this reaction,” a veterinarian allegedly told the girl as he implied that old age could have played a role in the dog’s attack.
