20-Year-Old Father And 19-Year-Old Mother Arrested After Cops Discovered Their Crimes


A 3-year-old girl died due to what cops described as brutal assault and beating.

Janiyah Armanie Brooks passed away at an Atlanta hospital where she was placed on a ventilator. According to WALB News, her 20-year-old stepfather, Gregory Parker, and 19-year-old mother, Crystal Brooks, were arrested.

The Albany Police Department said in a press release that police were called to the family’s home on May 13, 2019, about a problem. When police asked what the problem was, the stepfather said that his stepdaughter was not responding.

Janiyah was rushed to a nearby hospital where an investigation discovered that she had been sexually assaulted and severely beaten.

Injuries were found on the girl’s genital area and ribs and “unknown trauma to her head.” According to further investigations, Janiyah had experienced multiple incidents of abuse.

Parker was arrested on counts of rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated molestation, aggravated battery and first-degree cruelty to children.

Investigators also found out that the girl’s mother was aware of the repeated abuse. Brooks was arrested and charged with first-degree cruelty to children, giving a false statement, and aggravated battery.

Janiyah’s funeral was held on May 25, 2019- Her family told WBLT3 News that they wanted to keep her alive but knew it was time for her to go after experiencing so much pain.

Linda Faison, her grandmother, said: “It was a hard decision, but not a selfish one. I gave her a last kiss, I held her hand when she took her last breath. She don’t have to be afraid now. Hear steps coming toward her and saying ‘well what’s going to happen now?’”

Janiyah’s biological father, Daryl Faison, was at work when he received a call about his child. “At 12:15 p.m. she went to be with the lord, and I think it was best for us, because she won’t have to struggle no more, be beaten, heartbroken,” he expressed.
