15-year-old Electrocuted In Bath After Her Charging Mobile Phone Fell Into The Water


In France, a 15-year-old has died after she was electrocuted in the bath after her charging mobile phone fell into the water.

The girl, identified only as Tiffenn, was taking a bath at her home in Marseille and her mobile phone was charging nearby.

Her charging mobile phone then fell onto her chest and slipped into the tub.

She was electrocuted and emergency crews were called to her home in Marseille.

Emergency crews rushed her to the city’s Timone hospital but medics couldn’t save her and she died of cardio-respiratory failure.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of her death.

 

However, it is believed that the girl was taking a bath when her charging mobile phone fell onto her chest and then slipped into the water.

In another similar incident that happened two years ago, a 14-year-old girl died after playing games on her phone in the bathtub.

Madison Coe took her phone into the bathroom and was using an extension cord and a towel to keep it dry.

She then messaged her friend with the picture of the set-up: “When you use (an) extension cord so you can plug your phone in while you’re in the bath.”

It is believed that she touched the frayed extension cord while still in the bathtub.

She died in her bathtub.

Her grandmother said that there was a burn mark on her hand that would have grabbed the phone.

Her mother said the incident is actually a warning for all of us that mobile phones don’t belong in the bathroom.

 

She said: “A bathroom is a place for showers and personal time, and your phones don’t belong in the bathroom.

Electricity and water do not mix. All it takes is a drop.”
