An 11-year-old girl who managed to escape from a knife-wielding kidnapper covered the attacker in blue slime.
Alyssa Bonal was waiting for her school bus in Pensacola when Jaren Paul Stanga, 30, ran towards her while holding a knife.
Surveillance footage showed the student fighting back after he put her in a headlock.
Stanga then tried to drag Alyssa towards his white van but the girl broke free and covered him in blue slime to help cops track him down.
After a day-long manhunt, cops managed to find Stange, whose arms were covered in blue dye.
Alyssa and her mother Amber Bonal have revealed that the brave girl got the idea from watching Law & Order.
In an interview with the Pensacola News Journal, the young girl’s mother said: “Her first words were, ‘Somebody tried to kidnap me. He grabbed me by my throat and he had a knife.’ She said she was able to kick and she tripped him and freed herself.
“She said, ‘Mom, I had to leave some sort of evidence behind like on Law & Order SVU.’ We’ve watched probably every episode on Hulu.
“She’s a smart cookie, she thinks on her toes. She got that slime everywhere.”
Speaking to ClickOrlando, Alyssa recalled the horrifying moment the attacker grabbed her. She remembered thinking: “What is he going to do with me? Where is he going to? Where am I going to be at?
‘He had a knife in his hand. I tried running off, but then he got me… He took me with his arm and I was able to get him down to the ground and I was able to get away.”
After reports of Alyssa’s escape emerged, Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay said she was honored to be a part of the girl’s story.
“Alyssa, first and most important, I am so relieved and grateful to know that you are safe. And I am so honored to be part of your incredible story,” she wrote on Instagram.
“You are one BRAVE, Strong and Smart young woman. I think the SVU squad might have to add slime to their crimefighting gear! Take good care of yourself and each other. With all my love, your number one fan, Mariska.”
