A 14-year-old girl hid her newborn baby in the garage as she was frightened to tell her parents, police said.
According to reports, the schoolgirl named Anastasia secretly gave birth to her child and placed the baby in a freezer in the garage.
She later admitted to doctors what she had done but it was already too late to save her child.
Neither her teachers nor her parents had realized she was carrying a child as they believed she had only gained some weight.
After giving birth, Anastasia hid her baby in a freezer as she was terrified to tell her parents about the child.
The teen’s mother called emergency services after hearing her daughter in pain in the middle of the night. She was bleeding heavily and her parents thought she was suffering from appendicitis.
Nadezhda Boltenko, the Ombudsman of Novosibirsk in Siberia, told 360TV: “She heard her moaning at night and thought her daughter was suffering from appendicitis.”
While in the ambulance, Anastasia “confessed to paramedics she had given birth and hidden the child from her parents in the freezer” in the garage.
By the time the child was found, it was already too late.
According to reports, the father of the child is aged 16 but he and the girl had broken up.
One person commented: “Such a shame this young girl couldn’t have faced up to her parents and sorted things out. I hope she can come to terms with the mistakes made and get on with the rest of her life? And her folks give her all the help needed.”
Another wrote: “If she was scared couldn’t she have just left the poor little mite somewhere warm where he could be found and looked after?”
