A video was shared online showing a cop walking into a school and arresting a little girl who had a ‘tantrum’.
It also shows the young girl crying and begging cops not to arrest her.
The 6-year-old child, who was accused of hitting her teachers and having a ‘tantrum,’ had her hands bounded by zip ties. The police officer said he would’ve used handcuffs but the girl’s wrists were too small.
“Help me. Help me, please!” 6-year-old Kaia pleaded through tears as she walked to the police car. She cried: “I don’t want to go in a police car.”
She was then placed in the back of a car while she trembled and cried in terror, pleading for a second chance.
The 6-year-old girl was taken to a detention center where she was charged of criminal assault. The cop can be heard saying that this ‘breaks his record’ for the youngest person he has ever arrested. He said that he broke it two times that day as another 6-year-old was also arrested.
Officer Dennis Turner was investigated in 2015 for tasing a man numerous times even though he was not resisting arrest. According to reports, Turner was also arrested in 1998 for aggravated assault of a minor.
Turner has been fired shortly after the arrest.
Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon said that the officer did not follow department policy of getting the approval of a deputy chief to arrest someone under the age of 12.
Turner was quoted by News 6 saying: “I was a police officer for 23 years, and I was in the military before that. All I’ve ever done is to serve my country and my community. That’s all I have to say about this.”
