A young girl who was wandering alone around New York City hasn’t been claimed by anyone three days after she was found.
The four-year-old was picked up by police officers at the corner of East 156 Street and Prospect Avenue in the Bronx.
Police issued multiple alerts on social media but they still haven’t been able to find Sidaya’s family members or guardians.
Sidaya was placed in the care of New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services as NYPD officers continue to search for her relatives.
Police shared surveillance video showing the four-year-old on the street minutes before she was found by police.
A woman who was described as being in her 20s and 5’2’’ can also be seen looking back at Sidaya who was walking behind her.
She then stopped and waited for the child to catch up before they both disappeared from the frame.
Police said it was not immediately clear whether the woman knew the child or if she was only concerned about seeing the girl outside at midnight.
After LAPD officers picked up the child, they took her to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln where tests showed that she is in good condition.
Officers are now asking anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
