Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo had a special new year’s message for all the trolls who hated on him for sharing a video of him cuddling with his daughter Mia in November last year.
Back then, a lot of Internet users thought it was “weird” for the 43-year-old to be cuddling with a 7-year-old kid.
One Instagram user even commented: “She could at least have a top on I’m really sorry but it’s not our fault we think the way we do. The world is just so messed.”
But both father and daughter have remained defiant and suggested that it was the critics who were weird for calling out the scenario in the first place. Mia even flipped the finger to the haters to show what she thought of them.
This is why D’Acampo shared his New Year’s video on Instagram with the caption: “Something to think about… I wish you all a Happy New Year.”
He could be heard saying in the clip: “Last time I put a picture of me and you in bed giving kisses and cuddles a lot of people they thought it was weird.
“I thought it was nice because we were cuddling and I love you so much.”
Mia than asks him: “Why did they think it was weird?”
To which her dad replies: “I don’t know, they are the weird ones, nothing wrong with daughter and daddy cuddling in bed right?’ What shall we say to these weird people?”
That’s when Mia suddenly flipped the finger in a sign that no one could mistake.
D’Acampo says while laughing: “Mommy’s going to kill you!”
Praise soon poured in for father and daughter with one commenting: “Good girl!! People that think this is weird are the actual ‘wronguns.'”
But D’Acampo is no stranger to being termed weird. During the Christmas special of Gordon, Gino, and Fred: The Three Unwise Men, D’Acampo shared an amusing though slightly disturbing anecdote about a Christmas gift.
As they were cruising in their camper van, D’Acampo asked Gordon Ramsay what was the most expensive Christmas gift he ever got.
But before Ramsay could respond, D’Acampo quipped: “My one, if I tell you, you won’t believe it. My wife went to an auction for charity. For £3,700($4,800), one pubic hair from Madonna.”
A stupefied Fred Sirieix (from First Dates) blurted “What” before Ramsay replied: “That’s disgusting.”
But D’Acampo wasn’t done, adding: “It comes in a transparent box in a nice frame.”
He then pointed to Gordon’s hair, saying: “It’s a little bit like your color.”
Replaced!
