A Giant Potato Airbnb In Idaho Can Be Yours For $200 A Night


You have seen so many luxurious hotels but you have never seen this kind of hotel in your life.

This hotel is a treat for potato lovers. A recent Airbnb listing for a “potato hotel” in Boise, Idaho, is going viral.

Guests can stay and enjoy in the decommissioned tater that was paraded across the United States for several years. The cost will be $200 per night.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the giant potato reportedly is biggest in size, this is six-ton potato structure was actually created for the Idaho Potato Commission to be driven around the country promoting potatoes.

After six years traveling on the road, the Potato Commission was confused about what to do with the giant potato until tiny house developer Kristie Wolfe stepped in.

“It was always in my game plan,” Wolfe told the newspaper. “I had the perfect lot, and someday I was going to get that potato and turn it into something cool.”

According to the Airbnb listing, Guests can stay at the potato hotel from the end of May. The dates for nights in May are already booked, but there are still dates available in June.

All the facilities are available on Airbnb including air conditioning, an indoor fireplace, and hot water.

The original potato was made from steel, plaster, and concrete and was retired in 2017, replaced by a new 4-ton fiberglass potato.

“Stay in a 6-ton potato!” the listing reads. “This is the original potato that traveled countless miles across the country for the Idaho Potato Commission on the back of a semi truck!”

Wolfe even planted sweet potatoes around the potato hotel to make it even more unique, which is located in between the Union Pacific Railroad’s Southern Idaho route and an Air National Guard training center.

“It’s very American,” she told the Statesman. “You’ve got potatoes and the military and the railroad. It’s a good way to experience Idaho in a night or two.”
