There is something about newborns that makes them quite charismatic.

This means that whenever one sees a newborn, they tend to stop what they’re doing, even for a moment, in order to stare and wonder at that little bundle of life. And for those who are more susceptible to cuteness, they may even come over to play with the baby or at least try to make it smile.

As it turns out, this cuteness factor isn’t limited to humans but to any newborn life. Even something as fierce as a tiger will look so adorable the moment it’s newly born and vulnerable. Perhaps it’s the fact that a new life that was brought into this world that triggers that feeling among us that something significant has happened.

After all, even with all the advances in science, we are unable to make a new life just by mixing chemicals together. At its very essence, we still need the sperm and the egg in order to start the process of a new life forming.

There is something magical and awe-inspiring in that and perhaps all living creatures instinctively know that which is why they react in such a way towards newborns.

And this inner wonder apparently crosses the species barrier as well as can be seen with this German Shepherd who has been introduced to some newly hatched chicks and met them for the first time.

At first, the dog takes a few tentative sniffs at the little bundles but eventually settles down in order to let the little ones play around him. How cute!

The cuteness level even when up when they show the dog a whole bucket of the newly-hatched chicks and it’s hard not to feel a thrill of joy at seeing all these cute things just moving around. You’ll definitely want to cup them in your hands and cuddle them so it’s perfectly understandable why a dog would find the encounter quite cute as well.

In this cycle we call life, we often forget the miracle that just being alive entails. We often can be weighed down with all our daily worries and often disregard the fact that we are precious for just being who we are, not because of what we do or because of our capabilities, whatever they are.

We can learn a lot based on how the animal kingdom interacts. Sure, there are predators who hunt in order to eat, but it’s an instinct that is driven by survival, not fun or pleasure. But when they do show a level of caring to other living beings, it’s truly a sight to behold.
