In one of the photos, George was seen resting in his mom’s arms as a young child. In another, he was seen smiling from ear to ear while studying. Another picture showed George alongside his South Florida Community College basketball teammates.

Speaking of his brother, Philonise said George was a “leader” who always helped his siblings get ready for school and prepare breakfast. The heartbroken brother also insisted his sibling was obsessed with growing taller because he wanted to be the “best” when it came to basketball.

Philonise went on to recall his mother’s death as he revealed the 2018 incident left George struggling. “George just sat there at the casket saying: ‘Mamma’ over and over again. He was just kissing her. He didn’t want to leave the casket,” he added.

As it was previously revealed, George Floyd repeatedly called out to his mom during the final moments of his life as Chauvin pinned him to the ground.

Describing his brother as a “mama’s boy,” Philonise insisted George showed all of his siblings how to respect and treat their mother.

“Being around him, he showed us, like, how to treat our mom, and how to respect our mom. He just — he loved her so dearly,” he said.

Following Philonise’s brief, 10-minute testimony, the defense refused to cross-examine the brother and the prosecution moved on by calling forth another witness.
