Actor Gary Sinise Treated Nearly 2,000 Kids Of Fallen Soldiers To A Trip To Disneyland


Actor Gary Sinise is well-known for his roles in various movie classics such as Forrest Gump, Mission to Mars, Of Mice and Men, Apollo 13, and The Green Mile.

What fewer people know, however, is that Mr. Sinise is a kind-hearted man who brought a smile on thousands of people’s faces through his charity works.

The 64-year-old actor founded the Gary Sinise Foundation which focuses on providing resources and activities for veterans, first responders, defenders, and the families of fallen soldiers.

“Freedom and security are precious gifts that we, as Americans, should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom and security,” Gary wrote on his foundation’s website.

“While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders, we can always do a little more.”

As the site explains, they achieve their goals by “creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.”

One such recent program involved over 1,000 children of fallen children whom Sinise decided to treat to a trip in Disneyland entirely free of charge.

The ‘Snowball Express’ program was launched back in 2017, and since then 1,750 children of fallen soldiers were taken on an unforgettable 5-day adventure in the Orlando theme park.

“The most important thing about [the program] is that these children don’t feel alone. There’s a lot of healing and a lot of bonding and a lot of friendship that goes on that helps them through the rest of the year,” Sinise said in an interview with CBS Los Angeles.
