According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Anniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, and also creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane, are all being sought to show up in the unscripted reunion special.

The reunion that is in the works at HBO Max could reminisce on the old days, offer some details fans have never heard, and some commentary about what happened behind the scenes.

THR also said that agreements have not been signed and the exciting project is still ‘in talks’ stages.

During Aniston’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said: “Listen, we would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is.

“So we’re just trying really, we’re working on something.”

The actress also got fans well and worked up about the ‘reunion special’ when she joined Instagram and shared her first post: a photo of herself with former co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, co-creator Marta Kauffman said: “There are several reasons [why there won’t be a Friends reunion].

“One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It’s not that time anymore. All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone.

“Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is doing just fine, people love it. [A reunion] could only disappoint. ‘The One Where Everyone’s Disappointed’.”
