Parrots are often seen in households as a pet because they are friendly with humans.
The only difference is that the parrots we see out in the wild and the parrots we take up in our homes are different as the wild ones are grown up in the wild and the ones we humans generally have in our homes are grown up around humans and they are already comfortable with humans.
But this is not necessarily important for the wild parrots as well.

Meet this little parrot, he lives in a rehab center and a nature park in Papua New Guinea.
He was sitting on a branch inside his enclosure in the park when a Canadian tourist entered the enclosure. At first, the parrot was sitting on a far branch but he approached and came on a branch near Dave.
Dave saw the parrot and called him out. The parrot must have understood that Dave was friendly and as Dave pulled out his hand for the parrot, he climbed on his hand. The parrot then slowly climbed up to his shoulder from the hand.
Pretty soon the parrot got too comfortable on the neck of Dave that the parrot started rubbing his chest on Dave’s neck.
Dave, on the other hand, had no idea what the parrot was doing, was he getting ready to take a nap, or was he just scratching a bit. Or maybe it was his way to show affection.
There were a few more people who called out to the parrot but he was completely not interested in going to someone else. He was enjoying it with his new friend.
Soon enough, it was time for Dave to leave so he left the parrot on the branch, bid him goodbye and walked out of the enclosure. Now we are not sure if it happens often or not but this parrot definitely loved being around Dave.
