A 24-year-old bride wanted to make sure her wedding was a family affair by making four of her grandmothers as flower girls, and her big day became extra special!
It was on September 22 when Lyndsey and Tanner Raby tied the knot in Benton, Tennessee.
“I’m so lucky,” Lyndsey said to Today Style. “A lot of women don’t get one grandparent at their wedding and I was blessed to have all of them.”
That’s why she asked her grandmothers, 76-year-old Wanda Grant and 72-year-old Betty Brown, also her great-grandmother 90-year-old Kathleen Brown, and Tanner’s grandma 72-year-old Joyce Raby, to be her flower girls.
“They’re all besties now and talking on Facebook,” Lyndsey said. “Family is the most important thing to all of us.”
All of the beautiful flower girls walked down the aisle in light blue jackets and ankle-length dresses. The newlywed explained that grandmother Betty ‘didn’t want her legs showing.’
Lyndsey also joked that Kathleen, Betty’s mother and ‘the sassiest little thing in the world’ would have been happy to reveal more skin as she is currently single and on the search for a partner.
“I do believe they were more excited than my bridesmaids,” Lyndsey said to HuffPost.
“I was not expecting the level of sass that these girls brought,” she added. “Their energy all day was that of a little girl who was in the same position. It truly just goes to show that age is just a number.”
After she shared their amazing pictures on Facebook, grandma Joyce also said that the love was mutual.
Joyce commented: “I felt so special and loved. Thanks to Tanner and Lyndsey.”
