It is a survival story a former soldier who survived in Iraq and Afghanistan while on duty but was attacked severely when he was back in the UK.
Sergeant Daniel said that he was on a night out in the city when he got in an argument. He said that maybe the guys who had attacked him did not like him and was pissed at him for arguing with them.
He said he does not remember them at all but the witness told that the guys came back after 30 minutes and attacked him from behind. They kept hitting him until he went out of conscious.
Daniel says that he suffered severe injuries in the face, his facial bones were broken, his eyes were almost inside of the eye sockets and he now has a metal rod in his jaw.
The major thing that happened was due to the attack, he had massive injuries in his brain.
He said that they had left him alone on the road to let him die but somehow someone got him to the hospital.
Due to the injuries and after 7 months in a coma, he had to learn how to walk, talk, and drive all over again just like a baby would.
Due to the attack and injury, his time in the army was cut short and he got retired early after serving 16 years in the army.
Now, he is training to be a personal trainer and is working very hard for the same. He says that Royal British Legion turned out to be massive support and if it was not for them, he would not have been here.
