On her recent trip to the grocery store, this former emergency room nurse from Michigan saw how little people are aware of the cross-contamination.
When she was at the store, she saw people wearing gloves, which the nurse thought was a good measure. While they are wearing gloves, the people are still not adhering to the recommendations provided by the health officials.
Therefore, Molly decided to record a short video explaining the process of how the germs are spread and post it on Facebook. In her video, Molly Lixey demonstrated how quickly germs are spread at a public place like a grocery store.
While people are aware that coronavirus is spread through coughs and sneezes, only a handful of them knows that the virus can be spread through talking and even merely breathing.
During her grocery shopping visit, she saw people unknowingly exposing themselves to the germs. Molly told that she was painting her house when she thought paint would be the perfect medium to explain the spread of germs.
In the video, we can see Molly creating the entire scenario of going to the grocery store. First, she puts her gloves on and then grabs her phone as she leaves the car.
She cleans the shopping cart and then gets some toilet paper. She dips her finger in the paint, which symbolizes the germs on her hands that eventually wound up on her face.
Molly, in the video, explains that there is no point in wearing gloves if you do not wash your hands after touching something.
Her video received a lot of likes and comments with users agreeing that washing hands is the best measure to avoid the risk of being infected with the disease.
Some users suggested that they should wash or sanitize their hands before and after entering the grocery store, and avoid taking their phones inside.
