Following weeks after the poster’s discovery, the coach penned an ‘All Lives Matter’ message and taped it on his door prior to his departure.

As insiders reportedly told The Pantagraph, the BLM poster that was put up in the locker room was removed, whereas the coach insisted he had nothing to do with its removal.

“That locker room crap is wrong. I took the sign down somebody put on my door. That’s it. I didn’t take anything off that wasn’t put on my door. I wrote the message,” Beathard told the outlet.

Following Beathard’s departure, the Illinois State University announced that the coach has been replaced by C.J. Irvin and Ghaali Muhammad-Lankford.

In addition, Andy Belluomini has taken over the role of the quarterbacks coach, a position that was previously also held by Beathard.

According to the reports, Beathard, who refused to comment on the circumstances leading to his departure, led the ISU football team during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. In 2018, after taking a break from his position, Beathard returned to coaching and remained until his recent decision to call it quits.
