A terrifying footage has captured the moment a gigantic wolf chase a pet dog through the woods.
The footage that was recorded by the owner of the dog in northern Saskatchewan, Canada shows the white dog barking at a black figure in the background.
Suddenly, the massive wolf leaps forward and starts running toward the dog who now barks much intensely as it is approached by the giant.
The man who captured the scary video can be heard yelling ‘hey!’, in an effort to separate the two.
The dog’s owner later explained on social media: “I work as a fishing guide in northern Saskatchewan and I shot this video on one of our trails around the lodge. We get a lot of bears that come around the lodge but this year we had a black wolf that started to come around for a few days.
“We spotted the wolf through the window of the kitchen in the lodge and I made my way outside with the camera. The lodge manager Dan went for the shotgun. When I started to take pictures the wolf left, then returned a few minutes later and that’s when trigger took after the wolf.
“The wolf waited for Trigger to turn away from him and that’s when he grabbed the dog in the back end and threw her up in the air right in front of me. Dan shot the shotgun into the air and that broke the fight up.
“The wolf turned and left, we followed the wolf into the bush and shot again to scare him off. The wolf came back two more times that day looking for the dog we think. Trigger had a few good wounds and cuts but she is fine now.”
The creature was estimated to be about 7 feet long.
The video went viral on the internet as soon as it was shared with people expressing how afraid they were to see a wolf this huge.
One person wrote: “Wow that thing was massive, the dog had no chance……unless the dog was very obedient there was no chance it would of backed down, probably protecting its owner mine would of done the same! But damn that thing was big!!!!”
Another said: “This video shocks me everytime see them ears poking up from the ground. If i saw that in real life i would be petrified. absolutely terrifying. that wolf is massive. powerful force. imagine a pack.”
One user wrote: “It’s a timber wolf we have them here in Canada but they are rarely seen. This guy is pretty stupid allowing the dog to get that close.”
While many were deeply concerned about the incident, some joked about the massive size of the wolf calling it a supernatural being. “That was Jacob from twilight, that mf is abusing his role smh,” one user said.
Another wrote: “That wasn’t a wolf, that was a frickin dragon.”
