A four-year-old boy in Colorado has died of flu after his mother refused to give him Tamiflu after taking anti-vaxxers’ advice online.
Najee Jr and his three siblings were diagnosed with flu and the doctor prescribed the antiviral drug to the entire family.
However, the mother asked whether she should give his children Tamiflu on the Facebook group ‘Stop Mandatory Vaccination’.
The anti-vaxxers advised her not to give the antiviral drug and the mother took the advice of the anti-vaxxers.
She later thanked them, saying that she didn’t give her son the drug and treated him with breastmilk, berries, and thyme as the anti-vaxxers suggested to her.
A few days later, she had to hospitalize her son for four days where he died of flu.
The mother is now devastated and said that she failed him.
She told KKTV: “I’m hurting so bad right now and so is his dad and brothers. Our whole family is hurting and it feels like we failed him.”
The mother told that his five-year-old son came to her and told her his little brother was asleep.
When the mother checked, she found her son pale and unconscious on the floor.
She called 911 and he was rushed to a hospital. The doctors told her that her son had suffered a seizure because of his fever.
He was then tested positive for influenza B.
The mother then turned to Facebook for advice and suggestions for home or natural remedies as she wrote: ‘The doc prescribed Tamiflu, I did not pick it up.’
She took anti-vaxxers’ advice and they told her not to give the drug.
They suggested some home remedies, including breastmilk, thyme, and elderberry.
Unfortunately, her son died of the flu four days later.
