On Mother’s Day, all our loving mothers are showered with flowers, roast dinners, and cards filled with loving messages to honor them.

One mother from Northfleet in Kent got a little mother than just a greeting though when she read the card her five-year-old son made for her. That was because he had lovingly written the word “c***” as part of his greeting.

Melanie Dadson, 28, literally spat out her coffee when she first read what little Harrison had written in his handmade Mother’s Day card, which read: “I luv my mum because she is c***.”

It was obvious that Harrison didn’t know what he had written but Melanie and her husband James, 30, couldn’t control their laughter.

Melanie, who is pregnant with their fourth child, said: “I was really shocked.

“I actually spat out my coffee when he presented it to me but then we had a laugh about it.

“He did start reading it out to me and got to that word and said, ‘Oh I think it says ‘cute’ but I think I might have spelled it wrong.’

“I said, ‘possibly, yes. I really hope it was meant to say cute.'”

Harrison had written: “I luv my mum because she is c***. I luv my mum because she is byotiful. I luv my mum because she is pritey. I luv my mum because she is luvey.”

Melanie explained that Harrison had made the card at school.

“I’m not sure they vetted all of the cards before they were sent home,” she said.

“It was actually lovely because his handwriting is really good. I was proud of him because we’ve been working on it and he spelled ‘because’ correctly.

“Harrison was a bit upset that I was laughing at his card but I explained it was because I was really happy.”

She added: “He wouldn’t have heard it anywhere or known what it means.

“I didn’t draw attention to the fact it was a naughty word.

“He accepted that he’d spelled it wrong and what it was supposed to be so I didn’t see the point in introducing him to the real meaning.

“I shared it with my friends and mom and they thought it was great.”

Melanie is actually proud enough of the amusing card that it’ll go up to be displayed on her mantelpiece.
