A woman has found herself in an awkward situation as her family was forced to call the firefighters after she got stuck in a washing machine while playing according to NBC News.
The unusual incident occurred to 18-year-old Amari Dancy from Virginia while she was playing hide-and-seek with her family members.
According to the NBC News report, the firefighters were called to the family home in Woodbridge after the woman’s cousins found her trapped in a washing machine and unable to escape.
“We already had hid underneath the bed, in the closet, and we couldn’t go down into the basement. So, I was like ‘Oh, OK, let’s just hide in the washer machine,’” the 18-year-old allegedly said.
While it was all fun and games at the beginning, Amari soon realized she got stuck in the washing machine and needed professional assistance to break free.
“So the fire department came in and introduced themselves and then asked her name and what happened,” the teen’s aunt, Suni Dancy, added.
“She said, ‘Well, I was playing hide-and-seek,’ and he said, ‘Well, did you win?’”
Fortunately, the firefighters were able to loosen the top of the appliance just enough to free the girl without breaking the machine.
“I was really worried to see if they were going to get me out or not. Once they figured out what to do … I just felt relieved. I just wanted to be out of there,” Amari explained after the incident.
