A Man Saved Fingernail Clippings For 1 Year To Make An Engagement Ring


A man saved his fingernail clippings for a whole year to turn them into an engagement ring.

Social media users called it disgusting.

A man whose name is not revealed lives in Japan. He shared the process of turning his nail into the engagement ring on his YouTube channel Kiwami Japan.

He explained in the video that he collected his fingernail clippings for a year and captured the process of turning into a piece of jewelry.

Social media users calling it ‘disgusting’, and one person said, ‘When he is tightening the bolt and the fingernail juice squirted out, I started to retch.’

The video titled ‘Engagement ring made from human nails’, shows Kiwami clipping his nails before collecting them in a blender.

He blends the nails, he grinds them and makes a fine powder. Then, he mixes it with water in a pan.

He compressed the powder and squeezed to separate the liquid until it becomes a small amount of powder.

He compressed the powder inside a bolt one more time, then he keeps it in the oven for 90 minutes.

Now, the powder had transformed into a black sticky clay-like substance. 

The man puts the clay-like substance into a diamond shape mold, creating a silver ring, which he had made himself.

When the ring was complete, he puts the dull, black stone there, which doesn’t look like fingernails.

SCMP News’ video has been viewed over 200,000 times and had hundreds of likes and shares.  

Many people felt disgusted about the news, with one commenting: ‘That’s just flat out gross.’ 

Another commented: ‘I believe I’m not the only one feeling disgusting.’
