A photo of a perfectly camouflaged snake has been making rounds on social media where users struggled to spot the reptile.
Though snakes prefer to keep their distance and stay away from humans, occasional encounters are inevitable. While these reptiles typically don’t want to hurt people, they may attack when they feel threatened or cornered.
For this reason, one should always pay attention to their surroundings when walking in a place prone to snakes. As the person who took the photo above realized, however, these animals are nearly impossible to spot at times.

We can guarantee that there’s a snake in that photo and it’s not too small either. Though it is lying in plain sight, it is almost impossible to spot thanks to its camo design.

The snake you’re looking for is light brown, like the leaves, and has dark brown stripes across its body. It is also forming an ‘S’ shape with its body.

This picture was shared by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 when the group challenged their Facebook followers to try and spot the hidden snake.
As the service revealed, the snake hiding in the photo is a Rough-scaled snake, a highly venomous reptile.
“The species in question is a Rough-scaled Snake. Despite being highly Venomous this species is relatively uncommon in suburban areas and instead is much more at home in the pristine rainforests of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland,” they wrote.
