You might not know, but your feet play a crucial role in determining your overall health. Your feet reveal some significant details about your well-being!
Kate McArthur, a podiatrist from Sydney, said that most of the foot-related concerns are not that severe, but signs like painful; spots, swelling of the feet, or discolored toenails could tell a lot about your overall health.
For the feet that are constantly cold and that are cracked, sore, and dry, here is a guide to what your feet may be telling about your overall health.
#1 Toenail Discoloration
It is very crucial to pay special attention to the color of your toenails as they might be the signs of some serious health implications. Yellow nails could imply that you have a fungal infection on your nails. Also, it is also the sign that emerges as a result of eczema and psoriasis. And in the rarest of the cases, yellow nails means swelling of your lungs.
#2 Constantly Cold Feet
This is another symptom that you should not overlook. Constantly feeling cold feet is an indication of diabetes. Diabetes is responsible for the change in the peripheral blood supply to the lungs.
#3 The Skin on the Feet is Dry, Cracked, or Flaky
If the skin on the feet remains cracked flaky even after moisturizing it then it is a symptom of hyperkeratosis (thick skin). In this condition, the elasticity of the skin decrease and hence it will continue to crack.
#4 smelly Feet
Everyone is susceptible to smelly feet no matter how good their level of personal hygiene is. Socks, footwear can trap bacteria and fungus which love to breed in moist conditions. This may lead to foot odor. Well, this is something that you don’t need to worry about as it will not affect your health by any means but surely can embarrass you.
#5 Cramps in your Feet
If you experience regular cramps in your feet, then it is an indication of poor blood flow in your feet. That is, your feet aren’t getting enough oxygen required to perform the everyday routine.
It is advised to get yourself immediately checked once you experience these symptoms.
