Although lockdown measures have been eased somewhat in many countries, life is far back from normal.
The quarantine has impacted many adults, yet these are especially challenging time for children.
For Emma who lives with her parents in Indiana, this meant that she didn’t get to celebrate her 6th birthday like she would have if it weren’t for the pandemic. Not wanting to let Emma down, the FedEx driver to Emma’s house decided to go an extra step for the birthday girl.
Jordan Price, the FedEx driver, had never met the Paternoster family before. However, he found out that one of the children was soon having her birthday while delivering a parcel for Emma’s father. To cheer Emma up, Price made a quick detour to a nearby Dairy King and purchased ice cream cupcakes for Emma.
This precious moment was inadvertently caught on camera. Emma’s mother said she was recording as they were expecting birthday gifts from their family, but was not expecting a surprise gift from the FedEx driver at all.
To find out who the kindhearted driver was, Paternoster posted the two pictures above on her Twitter account. Asking FedEx to give him a raise, Paternoster added that the driver explained his gift by saying that Emma would have been celebrating with her friends if it weren’t for the extraordinary situations.
Paternoster’s original post received more than 211k likes, and friends of Mr. Price shared their personal anecdotes. One user said that Price has always been a stellar member of the community who was a fantastic coach for her two sons.
Price told Fox News that he knew the children couldn’t be at school and he wanted to keep the birthday special for Emma. Fox News also explained that Price is a father of two sons and has worked for FedEx for over 35 years.
The first one to hear the news was one of Price’s son, who immediately identified his father after he saw the post on Twitter. Many around the internet have praised Price for his heart and character.
