Animals, including those living in the wild, sometimes need human’s help.

When they lose their home or nest or get hurt and cannot move, they need assistance before they go back home to the wild, especially baby wild animals.
Even though they are wild animals, babies should learn how to survive in the wildlife from their parents since they were young.

So for those that lose their parents, they need human’s help like this baby feathertail glider, which was found on the street.

This is Boop, the feathertail glider. She was found on the street by a man who was walking his dog. With its sensitive nose, the dog noticed something on the street. A man didn’t know what it was so he brought the tiny creature to the zoo.

She was less than a gram, which means she is lighter than a paperclip.

This tiny creature found the right place for getting cares that she needs: the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. It was the organization to rescue the wild animals and rehabilitate them to conserve wild animal populations.

At the hospital, Boop got a blanket to cuddle in and the rescuers will take care of her until she has an ability to go back to the wild.

Boop is now healthy thanks to the man who found her and rescuers who cared for her.
When Boop grows up, she will become bigger but still small. She will be about 13 grams. Among the gliding mammals, feathertail gliders are the smallest in the world.

The hospital staff wishes that Boop grows up as a strong adult and will be returned to the wildlife, where she is supposed to be in. She will eat nectar and insects in the wild and find her own family!

As the hospital shared the picture of Boop on their Facebook page, one person said, “How precious! What a wonderful reminder of how sacred all life is – no matter how little. You all are truly a blessing for all the work you do.

Boop is not the only wild animal saved by the Australia Zoo Wildlife hospital. Hospital has saved many baby animals such as koala and frog.
