Firefighters Chase And Stop A Man Who Punched A 60-Year-Old Woman In The Face


When one considers what skills or mindset a firefighter should have, traits such as compassion and a sense of duty likely pops up in one’s mind.

Members of the New York Fire Department (FDNY) showed this when they chased down a man who escaped after punching a lady.

As a team of firefighters were gathered in front of their stations, they saw as a man on a bike punched an older lady in the mouth as he rode away in a bike. He must not have seen the firefighters, or at least thought they wouldn’t care about the assault.

However, the firefighters instantly reacted to the incident. Jumping to their feet, the firefighters rushed to the man who tried to get away on his bicycle but was soon apprehended and put under control by the firefighters. A look of confusion is clearly visible in the footage.

After getting hold of the culprit, the firefighters also noticed the New York Police Department (NYPD), and held the thug until the police came over to take the criminal away. Whether the law allows such action is unclear, but no officers found any trouble with the process.

The culprit has later been identified as 53 year old Daniel Biggs, an African American man. The woman who was punched in her face for no apparent reason was a 60 year old woman whose name has not been revealed to the public.

The four firefighters who responded to their sudden call of duty have all been identified as the members of Engine 214 / Ladder 111. Whether the station has recognized their valiant efforts is not yet clear, but everyone will likely agree that they deserve a compensation of some sort.

At the end of the footage, Biggs can be seen in a handcuff after the police come over. For this attack, he has been charged with four different charges. Court documents show that he was released without bail when he showed up to court 4 days after he was arrested on the spot.

The footage first went viral on TikTok before it was shared amongst Facebook users. Most reactions to the video was complimentary and grateful for the works of the FDNY.
