Arthur Ord, from Seaham in Durham, was so angry when he realized his son was behind the act. When he realized his 13-year-old was to blame for the mindless damage he outed Lucas Ord on a local Facebook page, he took him to the police station to be interviewed.

The 51-year-old added: ‘He’s had a couple of little scrapes recently and I need to do something to slow him down before it is too late.

‘I won’t allow him to run away and hide from what he’s done, not on my watch.’

Mr. Ord apologized for Lucas’s behavior, adding: ‘He will not be seen out for a long time. He is at a very impressionable age, and I worry unless he gets a hard lesson, what will happen?

‘When I was young, you went over the knee and got a proper arse-slapping, but now you have to find another way as (parents’) hands are tied by the law in so many ways.’

One parent in the group said: ‘Don’t be ashamed. If anything, you are the one parent that can hold his head high. It is the parents that cover for their kids that should be ashamed.’ Another called it ‘parenting at its best’.
