Father Who Threw Two-Month-Old Daughter From Second-Story Apartment Has Been Arrested At Airport


A 32-year-old father who threw his baby from a second-story apartment has been arrested.

Clarence Martin Jr. has been jailed without bail after he threw his two-month-old daughter from a second-floor balcony before setting his girlfriend’s home on fire.

He faces charges of first-degree arson, battery on a protected person, open murder, and torture of an animal.

London Della Martin, who was almost two months old, died from blunt force trauma to her head at a hospital, said the Clark County coroner. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Martin reportedly set his girlfriend’s apartment on fire during a heated argument, said Police Lt. Ray Spencer. He then fled in her vehicle, crashed more than twice, and went to McCarran International Airport where he was arrested.

Police reportedly received a call on early Saturday morning from the baby’s mother, Nicole Poole, telling the dispatcher that her boyfriend had thrown their child from their second-story apartment at Positano Apartments at 10115 Jeffreys Street.

She also said that she and her fiancé had been together for four years but she had not seen his ‘mental issues’ until this month.

Poole told officers that Martin had not slept or eaten in days before the tragic incident.

A neighbor who saw the shocking incident immediately performed CPR on London, who was rushed to St. Rose Hospital.

Sadly, the little girl passed away from her injuries.

Martin then set the apartment on fire, killing their pet dog that could not escape. According to the arrest report, the white poodle died from exposure to smoke and heat.

A neighbor said that Martin got into his girlfriend’s car while shouting, “burn b**** burn. This is what you get for cheating on me.”
