Father Fatally Shot While Walking With His 4-Year-Old Daughter


A father was fatally shot in a seemingly unprovoked incident while walking with his young daughter in the Bronx in New York City.

As seen in the surveillance footage, the 29-year-old father was crossing a street with his 4-year-old daughter when the suspect passed by with their car and paused at the side of the road.

Unsuspecting, the father continued holding hands with his daughter while crossing the street. At the same time, the gunman pulled down the window on the right and shot the young man.

According to the reports, the police identified the father as Anthony Robinson from Brooklyn. He was allegedly shot in the chest as he was crossing the street next to the 221 East 170 St in the Bronx.

Following the shooting, the father had been rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead. As the police later revealed, Robinson had a history of arrests. They didn’t provide any potential motive for the shooting.

The incident is one of many that have taken place in New York City following the local government’s decision to cut the City’s police budget by $1 billion.

According to the reports, dozens of unrelated shootings occurred in the city over the holiday weekend. Meanwhile, NYPD revealed that gun violence in the Big Apple has surged by 130% in June.

“This has been predictable. You heard me saying: ‘A storm is coming,’ and we’re in the middle of it right now,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said in an interview with NY1.

Shea also spoke out against the police budget cut, which came amid nationwide protests against racial injustice and police brutality, and suggested the City is bowing to the mob.

“And let’s mark the date on the calendar and how long it’s going to be before we’re having a conversation about New York is crying out for more police. And I think that day has come,” Shea said.
