A stressed father who had lost his job amid the coronavirus pandemic has had a change of fortune as he won a whopping $4.
8 million thanks to the lottery.
According to the reports, the unnamed father-of-one from Adelaide, Australia, won the ‘Set for Life’ jackpot that will see him get $20,000 per month for a period of 20 years.
While the pandemic has left millions of people unable to do their jobs and thousands of businesses struggling to survive, the father, who is in his 20s, managed not only to get back on his feet but to secure his future thanks to listing the right eight numbers before the draw.
“I checked my online account last night and saw I had won. I woke up my wife to tell her and she screamed,” the young father said according to The Daily Mail.
“It’s unbelievable! I checked my online account so many times to see if it was real… it is a wonderful feeling.
“We are a young family and we have a baby, so this will set us up for the rest of our lives. I recently lost my job because of COVID-19, and so this just gives me complete relief.”
As the man went on to say, the win helped him become happy again after dealing with constant stress and financial insecurity.
“This gives us complete financial freedom. The possibilities are endless with this prize. This is a great feeling to have. I couldn’t be happier!” he added.
