A Chinese father has devised a brilliant way to sneak in some sleep while performing his daddy duties.

In a viral video clip, the exhausted father was filmed lying alongside his son with a pair of fake eyes drawn on his eyelids to make his infant believe he was still awake.

The witty man had even put on an audio recording of him singing a baby rhyme so as to put the infant child to sleep.

Thinking that his father’s attention is directed towards him, the baby doses off comfortably as the man enjoys his sound nap with tissues stuffed in his ears as earplugs.

The footage, which is most likely filmed by the mother, is part of a humorous compilation titled ‘Perfunctory ways of fathers taking care of their children’ released by Chinese news website K618.cn.

Another clip in the video shows a father playing computer games while his little son is strapped to his chest.

Yet another nerve-wracking footage features an expectant father attending his antenatal class. But, he hilariously fails at it when he twists the head of a baby mannequin so clumsily that it pops off.

The video clip has garnered millions of views on social media platforms, with parents across the globe lauding the fathers for their quick-witted hacks.

Some parents took the opportunity to criticize how such ‘careless fathers’ keep the stereotypes of women being better caretakers alive.

‘You can tell that the father is very inexperienced in taking care of his baby!’ one internet user commented.

‘This is so funny! What a clever man,’ another said. ‘Many fathers would be copying him now.’

‘This actually shows that men should be learning how to take care of their babies properly and not leave everything to their wives,’ one person said.

‘At least the fathers are demonstrating good effort in helping out,’ a person wrote. ‘As a mother myself, watching these videos makes me so nervous!’ another said.
