As a part of their preparations, Harry, who works as an engineer, decided to make his baby’s sleeper cot on his own to make it special.

“After finding out we were going to have our first child I decided I wanted to hand-make something rather than just buying a standard item off the shelf,” the dad-to-be said in an interview with LADbible.

And so, he went on scouting the internet for cool ideas until he decided to build the cradle out of an old Jack Daniel’s whiskey barrel.

Following some fifty hours of hard work, the old-looking, rusty barrel her got was transformed into a chic and shining sleeper cot.

“The project overall was pretty straightforward but everything took longer than normal as nothing is straight or flat. The barrels are charred on the inside before they are filled with alcohol so cleaning all of that was probably the worst bit of the job!” Harry told LADbible.

As he added, he made sure to use baby-friendly products during the renovation process to ensure that the cradle would be safe for use and free of potentially dangerous chemicals.
