Denmark-born Amalie Jennings was only two years old when she started gaining weight rapidly, prompting her parents to take her to the doctor to see what’s wrong.

Throughout the years, Jennings was confronted by a tough childhood consisting of bullying and self-harming which resulted in her obsession with binge eating and uncontrollable weight gain.

Fortunately, however, the size-30 woman began accepting her body when she reached her 20s. In an online game that she was playing, she also met Sean who accepted her for who she was and married her after a successful long-distance relationship.

“The thing with weight differences in relationships is there are always people who are like ‘why are you with that person?’” Amalie revealed in an interview.

“There’s this image that a fat person has to be with a fat person and a thin person has to be with a thin person. Why are there these expectations?”

As her husband Sean added, the couple had to cut contact with his dad because he doesn’t approve of “larger people.”

Speaking of how the two met, Amalie said:

“I hadn’t had luck with boyfriends before. With online relationships, you get to know people in a different way. We had seen pictures of each other, but he didn’t care.

“You could see how fat I was in the pictures, but he kept talking to me and we became best friends really fast. It took a while before we realized we were in love with each other. We started a long distance relationship.

“We met in person after a year. He loved me and my body for how my body is.”

While Sean admitted he isn’t “generally attracted to larger women,” he claimed he’s “just attracted to people I love.”

“It’s never been like a fat fetish thing. You haven’t obsessively been like ‘I love your fat stomach’ or anything like that,” Amalie added.

“Maybe in my head before we met, it wouldn’t have been someone as large,” Sean admitted. “But it’s not that I find her any less attractive.”
