An Australian grazier has spoken out after vegans began harassing him for handing out supplies to fellow drought-stricken farmers and admitted that he and the charity he runs have been left inundated by calls from furious protesters.
Brendan Farrell, the founder of Burrumbuttock Hay Runners charity, has slammed back at the vegans and condemned them for chaining themselves to vehicles in a recent protest in Melbourne.
As Mr. Farrell explained, vegans keep on lashing out at him and spamming his phone despite the fact that he’s trying to help people overcome a tough situation.
According to the grazier, one woman recently called him just to tell him that “lettuce has a heartbeat.”
“Vegans are going bananas. Blockades left, right and centre. Flinders Street Station is in chaos. Abattoirs chained up, people locking themselves up here, there and everywhere,” Farrell said in a Facebook video that went viral.
“I am just gobsmacked with some of the bulls**t that’s coming out these people’s mouths on what they are trying to achieve.
“I answer every call because that’s what I do – and the Sheila goes she didn’t like the last post I have done on Facebook because lettuces have got a heartbeat… Lettuce. Has. A. Heartbeat. Some people have just got no bloody idea. None.”
Lashing out at vegans who keep disturbing him and his project, the farmer added:
“I’m out feeding cows and I can tell you what there’s a steer here that’s going to be bloody delicious at Christmas time. I can’t wait to look into it. That’s just me. That’s what we do.
“Next door neighbour’s running lamb at the moment. Bet you he is licking his chops too at Christmas time.”
