One mother managed to take over the internet by storm after documenting how she was forced to return to work after giving birth.
It can be said without a doubt that motherhood is a challenging endeavor and no matter how prepared you appear to be, you can never underestimate the challenges that might come your way.
And just like that, one woman who delivered a premature baby documented the struggles of her life after she was forced to get back to her job, just 12 days after she gave birth.
The fact that her baby was born premature and struggling in the NICU made no difference to her boss as he denied any form of maternity leave.
For that reason, the mother opted to share her pain with the world and managed to get immense support, love, and feedback from strangers who couldn’t help but make her story viral.
26-year-old Rebecca who hails from the USA recorded the emotional video that showed her working and unable to be with her child in the NICU because that is how the system works.
Rebecca revealed how her child Eden was born at 27 weeks premature and was immediately put into the NICU to assist with her development.
If you thought that was enough of a challenge, the mother says that returning back to work with a heavy heart was just too much for her to comprehend but she had no choice.
The video was deemed gut-wrenching by so many people who saw the troubled mother break down emotionally as she couldn’t take care of her infant because she had bills to pay.
Rebecca put the following heartbreaking caption that managed to gain her love and support from all over. It stated: “You return to work 12 days after having a premature baby at 27 weeks so that when she’s discharged from the NICU you can spend what little maternity leave you have with her.”
The mother also revealed the struggles of pumping milk at work and questioned others, who may be going through something similar, how they manage to deal with the guilt.
