Woman Discovers She Has A Biological SON She Never Knew She Had While Trying To Search For Her Own Parents


A woman who tried to search for her parents by submitting her DNA to 23and Me discovered that she has a biological son.

52-year-old Kristin Schoonveld has been adopted as a baby and when she tried to find her biological parents, she was shocked to discover that she has a son!

She initially thought that it was just a mistake but she then remembered that she had donated her eggs when she was 25.

26-year-old Parker Erickson was conceived with one of her eggs and was also on the website searching for his biological mother.

Speaking to the Indianapolis Star, Kristin said that she decided to donate her eggs after reading an article about the donation in 1994.

The couple who chose her sent her a handwritten message, thanking her “from the bottom of our hearts for helping us try to have a baby.”

“You sound to us like a wonderful, wonderful person,” the couple wrote. “We hope this whole experience hasn’t been too tough on you…. Take good care of yourself and know that your gift to us means the world to us. Sincerely, hopeful parents.”

Fast forward to late 2019, Kristin decided to search for her biological father on 23andMe after she had found her biological mother on MyHeritage.

While she was searching for her father, she instead discovered that she has a biological son: a 26-year-old man who grew up in Santa Cruz, California.

Speaking to People, Kristin said: “I was thinking it must be some sort of mistake.’ I was staring at the word “son” at the top of my results list.

“And I couldn’t even register what was going on.”

Parker’s profile showed that he was conceived via IVF using an egg donor. That’s when Kristin remembered that she had donated her eggs in 1994.

Kristin and her biological son started messaging each other, and in November 2019, they decided to meet in Indiana.

Kristin described experiencing ‘instant love,’ saying: “It’s as if I’ve known him his whole life.”

Parker also said: “It was like hanging out with people that I already knew. It was instantly just easy to love each other.”
